Dandiya

Dandiya was rescued from Kangra after her leg got caught in a wire trap. The injury had caused a broken bone, and initially we feared that the damage might be so severe that amputation would be necessary. However, with careful evaluation, we decided to try saving the leg. During treatment, the injured area suddenly developed severe swelling. Despite multiple efforts, the swelling did not reduce. Upon closer examination, we discovered that small broken bone fragments were still inside the wound. To resolve this, a small incision was made to remove the bone pieces, allowing the area to begin healing properly. The good news is that Dandiya has now started taking weight on her leg, which is a very positive sign. She will still need around 20–22 more days of care and monitoring to recover completely.
