Bela

Bela was rescued from Ranital along with her mother, Gitali. This tiny girl had a severe injury in her umbilical cord, and we had to bring her mother with her so she could feel safe. Bela is on antibiotics and painkillers, and her wound is being dressed regularly. Her cord was badly damaged, so we’ve applied a splint and started her on calcium supplements. It’s going to be a long journey for her — she’ll need around 3–4 months to recover fully. Gitali, her mother, is also being treated. Her placenta didn’t come out properly, which led to an infection, and she’s now under our care as well. Both mother and baby need all the support they can get right now.
