Phoolan, a female dog, was rescued from Banikhet with a life-threatening condition—ascites, a painful buildup of fluid in her abdomen. She had been suffering for a while before help arrived. Since her rescue, she has undergone a complete course of antibiotics, and most of the fluid has been carefully drained. The remaining fluid is being removed slowly to keep her safe and comfortable. Phoolan is not out of the woods yet, and she still needs regular care, monitoring, and follow-up treatment.
