Pirate, a little calf, was rescued from Manei with a severe wound in one of his eyes. The injury was so bad that maggots had infested the wound, causing painful swelling. At first, we feared Pirate might lose his sight in that eye forever. But after a careful diagnosis, we discovered that his eye wasn’t fully damaged, and there was still a chance for him to see again. We’ve begun his treatment, but it will take some time before we know the full extent of his recovery.
