Gitali was rescued from Ranital along with her newborn baby, Bela. We had to bring her in because Bela had a severe injury, and the little one wouldn’t have survived without her mother’s comfort and presence. Once they arrived, we discovered that Gitali herself was also unwell. Her placenta hadn’t come out properly, which led to an infection. She is now on antibiotics and painkillers, and our team is monitoring her closely every day. While Bela heals from her damaged umbilical cord, Gitali is fighting her own battle. Both mother and baby are depending on us — and on your support — to make it through this difficult time.
